Principal's Bio

A little bit about Precious the Principal...

Hubbard

Welcome to the new academic school year. Precious J. Hubbard is a San Diego native, born and raised in the Southeastern community. She is a proud graduate of Lincoln High School where she held multiple leadership positions that led to her name being on the Wall of Excellence and her portrait on the Wall of Unsung Heroes located at Market Creek Plaza.

Immediately following her graduation from Lincoln she went to Howard University to study public relations and earn a degree in English. She then returned home to attend San Diego State University for her graduate studies and earned a Masters degree in curriculum and instruction.

In addition to her current role as Principal of Bell Middle School, she is a wife and proud mother of 5-year-old Morgan MaryCarol Hubbard. Precious spent six years at Lincoln High School, where she was often called "Momma" by students. She was voted "Educator of the Year" by Lincoln staff and the Association of La Raza Educators. The National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa also selected her as an outstanding black educator. When asked why she works so hard, she responds with a quote from Frederick Douglass, "It's Easier to Build Strong Children, than Repair Broken Men."

As an educator, Precious operates on the African proverb "it takes a village to raise a child". She admits that it was collaboration between family, school and the community that she is the woman she is today. We are collectively learning to be on P.A.R.R. 1) Problem Solvers 2) Advocates for Others 3) Relationship Builders 4) Reflective Learners. That is part of the Bell Way and I hope you choose to be a part of it.

In her spare time Precious enjoys spending time with family, reading, listening to music and taking long-drives.
